Loblaw Companies Limited is recalling a batch of President’s Choice Organics brand Primavera Pasta Sauce because of possible plastic contamination.  The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says says pieces of plastic were found in some 700 ml jars of President’s Choice Organics brand Primavera pasta sauce.

The product has been sold in Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador.

There have been no reports of injuries or illnesses associated with the recalled product.

Other warnings issued by the CFIA include:

  • McCain 900 gram packages of hashbrowns, also due to plastic contamination. The product was sold across the country.

  • Williams Sonoma brand pumpkin seed pesto due to risks of Clostridium botulinum. The product was sold in Alberta and Ontario.

  • Lundberg brand Rice Chips (Sea Salt) from the marketplace because they contain milk which is not declared on the label. The product was sold across the country.

  • Kevin’s brand taiyaki and waffle products because they contain milk which is not declared on the label. The product was sold in B.C. and Ontario.
