Need a Quick Legal Advice in Nova Scotia?
Need Legal Advice? Have a few questions you need answered??
Did you know that the 3rd Monday of every Month you can see a lawyer at no charge! There is such thing as a lawyer walk in clinic in Nova Scotia now 🙂
Where? It is held at your local Legal Aid Location from 6-8 (Call you local office to see if times or day may change for the summer moths of July & August)
You do not need to qualify for legal aid to attend.
You simply show up and put your name on the sign up sheet and they call people in on a first come first serve basis. These are not intended to be long, need a lawyer for full representation sessions. These are for all those grey areas.
They are not all legal aid lawyers; these are lawyers from the area that all volunteer their time.
Examples of why you may go:
Roy had a question about a ticket he was issued & how to get it reversed. (Wish him luck tomorrow)
Roy also had an estate related question. (Questions answered)
Roy spent a total of 15 minutes with the lawyer and got all his legal questions answered.
I had a question about getting permission to go for custody of grandchildren (Yep grandparents need permission ) and a question about adoption. Not only did I get all the information I needed. I also found out how I can get adoption fees waved. I spent 15 minutes with a lawyer.
One lady waiting wanted to know about a quick divorce. A man was waiting to ask about taking someone to small claims court.
Roy & I even saw different lawyers; plus I am pretty sure I saw 2 others.
It’s a great way to get the advise you need without breaking the bank. Or paying for an entire hour. Lawyers charge by the hour; so even if you need 15 minutes your still paying for a full hour
We live in Truro, Nova Scotia. If you live in a smaller community that doesn’t have a legal aid office; you know that our office has it 🙂
