Prepare for Holiday Shopping Get the most for your dollar #Holidayshopping

Now that back to school has happened; it is not to settle in to the very short journey beyond today and the Holiday Season. Holiday Shopping can put a huge debt into anyone’s budget and if your already running in the red and am barely surviving pay check to pay check, it can be a very financially straining, stressful and at times impossible. It does not need to be that stressful and there are many ways you can reduce your spending, find alternatives and if you do shop, you can earn the maximum savings and often get cash back on your purchases. There are even ways you can earn free gift certificates or gift cards that you can buy holiday presents with and than earn cash back on those purchases. Do not worry; I will explain in all.

  1. Join these amazing survey sites and start racking up cash and points. There is tons of time between now and the holiday season to bring in that extra cash !
  • Take everyone’s name and do a gift exchange with a low limit such as $5; it may shock you how original someone can be with $5. I am sure if you ask those you normally gift gifts too will welcome the idea. If you have 5 siblings; instead of 5 gifts it would only one gift; which can be much more manageable to everyone’s budget.
  • Make your gifts. Everyone knows how to do something. You could make everyone from soap to bath bombs, to those of you that many have other talents such as painting or drawing, a coupon booklet that allows the recipient a variety of coupons such as one free night of babysitting , free cleaning for 2 hours.  The kids will soon have pictures done at school, instead take them to Walmart where they can get a group picture done and let them make their own frames of Popsicle sticks. Pinterest would have lots of inexpensive ideas.

SwagBucks (Canada & USA) This is the one I love the most! It has access to tons of stores that will give you Swagbucks for your purchases. They have all the popular stores like Amazon, Nike, Groupon, Old Navy, etc.  You you can also earn Swagbucks by completing surveys, watching videos, playing games and so much more. You can redeem those Swagbucks for gift certificates or even Paypal. I tend to check what “sales” are on when I redeem my Swagbucks and often find huge savings on redeeming for gift cards. Just recently I redeemed for a $50.00 Amazon gift card but it only charged me what is equivalent to $39.00, so that is a huge savings. I found my granddaughter two of the new games she wants for Christmas. I visited Amazon via Swagbucks to earn even more Swagbucks when I spend my card that I just earned. You do not need any referrals to be able to redeem for gift cards in a short period of time.  I also find with Swagbucks that I can cash out multiple times compared to with competitors which is quarterly and their only option is cash.
