Night Night Farm
This is a lovely board book written by Amy Parker. It is about all the innocent and sweet things that should occupy a child’s mind. It’s about nature and creature and everything pure.
Those who have followed my blog for a while are aware we have children and grandchildren of various ages. Last October we moved from town to country and most recently we have began to gather animals, 2 by 2. Roy would tease me and ask if we were building an arc too. It started off I wanted a few chickens and rabbits for the kids. We now have chickens, quails, turkeys, pigs (ones that are expecting babies too), goats, sheep and even cows.
We have hatched out our own eggs to have baby chickens and quail and just recently our rabbits delivered baby bunnies. This has been an amazing experience for the children. They have learned and been able to experience the circle of life. We have had a few baby chicks that didn’t make it and when you ask our two year old where they went; she will tell you up in heaven. I’m not sure if she knows what that means however she is comforted in the fact they are there and not in pain.
When this book arrived my daughter Braylee and my grand daughter Sophia who are both 2 saw the book and were excited by the cover. They wanted the book read ASAP!!
The two little ones loved the colourful book. They would say all the animals names, say their sounds. Remind me which animals we did and didn’t have. They wanted to take turn turning the pages and I was grateful it was a board book. It is not that they would try to rip the book but eager little hands can easily tear thin pages. The book had just enough words and just enough pages to keep them entertained and did not loose their interest. This has quickly become become a favorite of the girls. You can now get your chance to win a book for your household 🙂
